 Lenksche Haus

The larger and particularly beautiful half-timbered house in the Franconian style stands here in Torstrasse and is known as the "Lenk's House"

The name of the house goes back to its builder, the pastor Johannes Lenk (pastor in Creglingen from 1581 to 1602) and was built in 1590. A round arch portal made of shell limestone with side seating niches was discovered, the courtyard entrance is on the street side.

For a long time it was also known as the "Freihaus", as deserving civil servants and their families were allowed to live here rent-free.

The building, which is now owned by the town of Creglingen, was extensively renovated in 1983/84.
