Pharmacy (built in 1575/76 according to dendrochronological investigations)

The pharmacy is the third oldest health care institution in Creglingen, next to the baths and midwives.
In 1712, the pharmacist Wilhelm Feuerlein from Gräfenberg near Nuremberg founded the pharmacy. Before the pharmacy was founded, barbers and surgeons supplied their patients with medicines. In 1714, Margrave Wilhelm Friedrich of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1686-1723) issued the pharmacy regulations. In it, they were obliged to be on duty at all times and to maintain secrecy. It also contained regulations on the dispensing of poisons. The dispensing of abortifacients was strictly prohibited.
In 1725, Georg Adam Nägelsbach from Uffenheim took over the pharmacy and heralded a positive development with the purchase of the pharmacy building on the market square (1726). He was granted the pharmacy privilege by Margravine Christiane Charlotte of Brandenburg-Ansbach (1694-1729) and ran the pharmacy for almost forty years.
In 1786, the pharmacist Georg Christoph Stellwag from Rothenburg took over the house.
Five more owners followed until the pharmacist Albert Zahn from Weiden in der Oberpfalz bought the pharmacy in 1884. He ran it until 1909, followed by his son Adolf. He was followed by his son Albert from 1954 to 1994.
Since then, pharmacist Dr Peter Zahn has been the owner and the Zahn family is the fourth generation to run the Stadt-Apotheke.
